United for Peace 3pm Sun 23 Feb and DARWIN DAY 3pm Sun 9 Feb 2014.
Hello MS United for Peace members and friends! Another try! Next meeting will be 3pm Sunday 23 February 2014, with more preparation and getting-the-word-out. And we will join the national organization: http://WorldBeyondWar.org when it activates in September. The Peace Movement is not hopeless; it's NECESSARY! That's what got us out of Vietnam, and enabled the Obama administration to back away from war in Syria.

Today's Keystone Event In New Orleans
From Steve Shepard
(LA) 6:30pm CST - #NoKXL St. Charles Vigil - Location: Audubon Park, 6823 St Charles Ave, New Orleans, LA - From Jenna DeBouisblanc,
"With the release of the State Department’s final environmental impact statement, this is a crucial moment to protest Keystone XL. Join us Monday evening to send the message to President Obama that Keystone XL fails his climate test and he must reject it. We're going to meet on St. Charles across from Tulane in front of Audubon Park with BIG signs and lots of candles. We're going to walk along the streetcar tracks to make sure as many people as possible see us. We're bringing some candles and signs (links available after you sign up), but please bring some as well if you can." Pushing Earth Over The Brink -- New Article In Nature
From Bonnie Schumaker
Good summary by Grist of the recent Nature article: http://grist.org/climate-energy/were-about-to-push-the-earth-over-the-br...
I wonder if the majority of humans and societies now could not be awakened to this no matter what evidence is laid before them. We seem to have "evolved" to a state of opaqueness that is impenetrable to rational warnings. Drawn to the falls, so to speak.
