Take Action

There are many ways to take action in your community and to make it a better place. You can write a letter to the editor of your local paper, share your opinions on social media sites like Facebook and Twitter and share Sierra Club information with other organizations that you belong to. Or you can contact any of our Mississippi Chapter group chairs to find out about meetings and events (see Contact Us page). To connect to Sierra Club National issues and concerns, Click Here.

Letter to the Editor

The letters to the editor and the editorial pages of local newspapers are usually the most well read pages. That's because your neighbors are looking to learn from community members how they think about the issues that affect our community and state.

Social Media

The Mississippi Chapter as well as Sierra Club National uses Facebook, Twitter, and other social media outlets to keep our members and supporters informed and to reach out to other members of the community. Use social media to tell your friends and neighbors about chapter activities and outings. Like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter!

Share your concerns and knowledge with groups you support and participate in

We are always looking to grow our membership and reach out to the community. Almost all of our events, meetings, and activities are open to the public. Attending one of our regular meetings or events is a great way to meet other Sierra Club members and supporters and learn about ways to get involved in an issue or activity that interests you!
